THE LOW DEMAND
LITERACY SPACE
A membership and support space for homeschool parents who want ongoing, expert literacy support.
Built by a literacy specialist and educator with over a decade of experience, who also homeschools three boys in a child-led, play-based home.
Join the Space Today $49 AUD / month · No lock-in · Closes Thursday 6 August AESTKnowing what to do in general and knowing what to do for your specific child are two completely different things.
You have done the searching. You have read the posts and watched the videos and asked in the groups. And you are still hitting moments that stop you. Your child stalls on something they had last week and you don’t know whether to push through or step back. You type a question into a search bar at 9pm and close the tab still not knowing.
Here is what nobody tells you: the information was never the problem. No course, no program, no Facebook group, and no AI tool knows your child. What you need is not more information. What you need is someone who can look at what you share about your actual child and tell you exactly what to try next.
I’ve spent over a decade as a classroom teacher. I hold postgraduate qualifications in language and literacy. And when I started homeschooling my own three boys, I had to completely unlearn how I thought about all of it, because knowing the science and knowing how to apply it in a home built on child-led, low demand, play-based learning are two entirely different things.
What I kept coming back to was this: the parents who struggled most were not the ones who lacked knowledge. They were the ones who had knowledge but no one to help them apply it to the specific child in front of them. That is why I built this space.
Imagine knowing that whenever a question comes up, you have somewhere real to turn.
Someone who knows your child’s story and has read your previous questions. Someone who can respond to what is actually going on, not to a hypothetical child and not with a generic answer, but with something real and specific for your home, your child, every single week.
The searching quiets. The mental load of holding all of it alone lifts. That is what life looks like inside this space.

Here’s what you get inside
Direct Access to Amity
Not a forum where someone might answer. Not a community where expertise occasionally shows up. Your question, your child, your home, with a personal response from a literacy specialist, every week, without exception.
- Bring the moments that stop you and get a real answer that fits your actual child
- Amity reads everything and responds to every member, every week
Weekly Live Calls
These calls happen most weeks, and they are here if you need them, easy to skip if you do not. Bring a win, a worry, a question, or come with nothing at all and just listen in with your headphones on. No attendance expected, ever, just a room full of people who get it whenever you want to step into it.
Monthly Deep Dive Videos
Once a month, a longer video goes into the library built entirely from what members have asked for. Submit your topic, and if it is something other members would benefit from too, it might be the next one. Every video can be listened to like a podcast, for the days you need support but do not have a screen free.
Monthly Guest Experts
Some months, literacy is not the only thing on your mind. A guest expert joins the library each month to speak into the parts of this parenting journey that sit alongside literacy, from a professional in their own field.
A Growing Resource Library
Short videos, printable games, and activity guides, all added regularly and all tested against one standard: does this actually work in a real home, with a real child, without pressure? Every new resource added while you are a member is included at no extra cost.
Full access to all three Nestwise at Home courses:
Teach Your Child to Read
The full literacy framework built for homeschool families, from oral language foundations through phonics and comprehension, designed for homes that look nothing like classrooms.
The Print-Rich Home
How to set up your home so literacy opportunities are woven naturally into the life you are already living, so your home does some of the heavy lifting for you.
Playful Phonics with Magnetic Tiles
Fifteen phonics activities using the tiles already on your floor. Zero prep, no worksheets, no sitting down on demand, just meaningful play that builds real phonics skills without either of you noticing.

Here’s what other homeschool parents have to say
“I am so glad I stumbled across your program. I feel a lot more confident to lead things a different way with my son, who is struggling to read and write. You have equipped me with knowledge to understand the learn to read process, and some great games, so we can do learn to read in a fun, engaging way for him, through the day with a game based and life based approach. I wouldn’t feel comfortable doing this on my own. Having your expertise in the zoom calls and messages has been critical. And my son is making small steps of improvement and our household is calmer, happier and less stressful.”
“Thank you thank you thank you for your generosity in your responses and for how much you consider the styles of our kiddos that we share with you! This is what makes this space so special and what I am so grateful for. Finding meaning and purpose really drives me and my children so thank you for helping me to broaden my focus and look at the process of writing and the opportunities it brings through editing and drafting, rather than just zooming in on the spelling at stage one. I love the voice notes, 5 mins of valuable insights. Thank you.”
Hi, I’m Amity.
I’m a qualified teacher with postgraduate qualifications in language and literacy, over a decade of classroom experience, and three boys I homeschool in a child-led, play-based home that looks nothing like a classroom.
People often ask how my older boys “taught themselves to read.” That is the most useful thing I can tell you: my approach is so natural and joyful that it doesn’t look like teaching from the outside, even though it always is. That is what I bring to this space.
- Postgraduate qualifications in language and literacy
- 10+ years classroom teaching, prep to upper secondary
- Homeschooling three boys, child-led and play-based
- Specialist in the science of reading applied to real homeschool homes
The Happiness Guarantee
No lock-in. No complicated process.
I believe in what this space offers. If you try it and it is not what you hoped for, reach out and we will sort it out together. Month-to-month, cancel any time. You are always in control.
This space is for you if...
- You are parenting a child who does not fit the standard advice. Maybe your child is neurodivergent. Maybe they are deeply sensitive, or need to feel in control before they can even think about cooperating. Maybe reading and writing already feel like a fight, or school left them wary of anything that looks like a lesson. Whatever brought you here, the guidance in this space starts with the child in front of you, not the child a program assumed you had.
- You are tired of advice that wasn’t built for your child. You want one place, one person who actually reads your specific situation and responds to your actual child, not a hypothetical one.
- You need literacy support that was built for a home like yours. Not advice that asks you to apply pressure, sit your child down, or follow a program designed for a classroom.
- You are done figuring this out alone. You are ready for the support, the clarity, and the confidence that comes from having a literacy specialist in your corner every single week.
I hear these a lot...
You are probably already doing more right things than you realise.
What this space gives you is the expert support to see that clearly, and to know what to do next for your specific child, at every stage of the journey.
Doors close Thursday 6 August AEST. After that, enrolment shuts until the space opens again.
