I’m Amity. I’m a language and literacy specialist, homeschool parent, and educator with 10 years of experience helping children dive in to joyful, evidence-based learning.
I’m passionate about supporting parents to understand how children learn to read and write, move past stress and second-guessing, and build systems that actually fit their family’s rhythms (not someone else’s checklist).
I combine deep educational expertise with practical, gentle methods so families feel capable, confident, and connected. Never burnt out or overwhelmed.

MY JOURNEY (the short version)
Before Nestwise at Home, I worked as a classroom teacher and literacy specialist, helping children unlock their curiosity and joy in reading and writing. But I also became a homeschool parent. Suddenly I was trying to make all that training and knowledge actually work at home with real life happening around me, in an environment that I intentionally did not want to look at all like school.
That meant translating the science of learning into real life homeschool rhythms, learning to let go of comparison and perfection, holding space for mess, growth, and real progress, and teaching in a way that feels gentle and sustainable, while always remaining evidence based.
All of that experience taught me something huge: Parents don’t need to be perfect teachers. They need a trusted guide, so that they can become a trusted guide for their children. They need someone who speaks their language. Someone who believes in their family’s potential. Someone who actually gets it, but also “gets” a whole lot more about evidence based literacy instruction.
That’s exactly why I created Nestwise at Home.
