Hi, I'm Amity — the literacy specialist who helps homeschool mums raise joyful, confident readers.

I use my expert knowledge and lived experience to help homeschool parents teach reading and writing naturally and joyfully with zero overwhelm. And I'd love to help you.

Oh hi there — welcome to the place where literacy finally feels like home.

Let me tell you my story.

Nestwise at Home exists because I understand one thing very clearly: you want your child to love reading and writing — and you want that without rigid lessons, overwhelming curricula, or sacrificing the warm, free days you dreamed your homeschool would be.

I'm Amity. A qualified teacher with over a decade of experience in classrooms, clinics, and learning support settings. I know the research. I know the methods. I can explain the science of reading in my sleep.

And then I became a homeschool parent — to three very real, very different children — and suddenly had to figure out how to make all of it actually work in a natural, freedom-filled, child-led home. Not on a rigid schedule. Not with a curriculum that hijacked our days. Not at the expense of the slow, joyful life I'd chosen for my family.

That process taught me something I couldn't have learned any other way: the gap between knowing the science and living it at home is real — but it's also completely bridgeable.

You don't need to choose between evidence-based literacy and a homeschool full of play and freedom. You just need someone to show you how to weave them together. That's exactly what Nestwise at Home exists to do.

What started as my own quiet figuring-it-out has grown into a place where homeschool mums across the world come to finally feel calm, capable, and connected in how they teach their children to read and write. I'm so glad you're here.

This is what we believe at Nestwise at Home

Every resource, every course, every word of guidance is rooted in these four things

Evidence-based and heart-forward

Research and connection aren't opposites. I help you hold both with clarity and without compromise. You deserve the science and the joy.

Practical simplicity over complexity

No complicated programs you'll dread opening. Just knowledge you can apply in ways that feel natural and sustainable in your real, full, beautiful life.

Confidence over comparison

Your homeschool is yours. When you understand the why behind what you're doing, comparison loses its grip and you start to trust yourself.

Calm through the beautiful chaos

Learning is messy, that's normal. But it doesn't have to be overwhelming. Not when you have a clear, joyful foundation to come back to.

A note from me to you.

You care so much. That's exactly why it feels hard.

Maybe you've spent hours Googling and still feel like you're missing something. Maybe you're on your third curriculum and none of them have quite clicked. Maybe your child resists reading or writing time and you don't know whether to push through or back off.

Maybe homeschooling feels joyful in every other way — but literacy is the one thing that keeps you up at night.

You're not failing. You're not behind. You're just missing a trusted guide who speaks your language, understands your values, and actually knows the research.

Picture this: your child reaching for books they chose themselves, writing stories without being asked, communicating with ease and genuine confidence. Literacy woven naturally into your days rather than something you battle through. You, guiding it all with quiet certainty — because you finally know exactly what you're doing and why.

That's what's on the other side of this. Whether you're just starting out or you're deep in the homeschool journey and craving more clarity — you're in the right place. And I'd be honoured to walk alongside you.

With warmth, Amity x

What homeschool mums are saying

Real families. Real transformation.

I loved Amity’s warmth & genuine passion for this topic. It was so obvious in her presentation. I loved the personal references & experiences she shared. I also loved that it was all backed by the evidence. Thank you for sharing this with me (us) Amity, it has given me so much with my own kids.

Thankyou, Amity! I felt a bit overwhelmed to start with. My eldest never required explicit support or instruction with phonics, it was enough for me to answer questions as they came up. So when my 2nd child needed me to guide her, and I knew nothing about phonics, I panicked. I now see that it isn't that big a thing and definitely something I can do in our usual chilled, informal and inconsistent way!

The course is really very helpful in understanding how to get started on their reading journey! It helps you to feel confident in teaching phonics and makes you feel at ease- that’s there’s no rush or “one way” to go about it.
